A Unique Approach. A sports Based Boarding School!

Introduction:

Exploring a progressive approach to youth intervention, Almoner Care has developed a unique Part Time Sport based Boarding School, in which children who are at risk of entering the justice system; can be provided with structured support and education. The key to Almoner approach is family involvement at every stage.

Traditional methods of intervention are increasingly showing their limitations in the modern world. Today with better understanding and diagnosis, many young people have complex needs which require deeper intervention. Failure to do so can often lead to Juvenile detention leading to disrupted education, limiting of future opportunities and an increasing likelihood of reoffending into adulthood.

To prevent this Almoners Solution within the care sector. A part-time boarding model can offer critical intervention at a pivotal moment, focusing on. Personal Growth, Educational Development & Family Supported Integration.

Our Program revolves around a Part-Time boarding school approach. You may be asking what a Part-time boarding school is. At Almoner care we provide the children under our care with a safe, supportive, structured environment focusing on offence oriented and educational programs for three days a week on campus, the other remaining days are spent at home involving family members in the rehabilitation process.

By focusing on sports we are able to instill discipline, teamwork, resilience and leadership these are key for establishing a quality life for any young person. Physical activity also promotes, mental well-being, confidence and body positivity.

The key components of Almoners approach are focused around three areas the first being Offence focused Therapy, were by our team will address the underlying personal challenges, decision making and ensuring impulse control. This will be achieved via, mentorship sessions, group therapy, and instilling behavior management techniques. The second component is getting the young people under our care back into full time education. We achieve this by focusing on core academics, Math's, English and other essential academic skills, ensuring that our children can leave High School with a good set of academic results which will set them up for a bright future. The third area is sports and physical activity. Teaching our young people discipline, responsibility and self worth promoting physical and mental resilience.

By using sports as a medium to reduce  the chances of reoffending in the future we setup the children under our care for a successful chance at life. By building self esteem, impulse control and body positivity allows the children to continue to develop into adulthood.

Almoners Care approach not only has positive outcomes for children under our care but also for the communities they come from. By addressing the root causes of their offending we reduce the chance o reoffence ensuring safer communities for all.
